Therapy

Online Therapy

Therapy can give you space to understand patterns, work through what has been weighing on you, and develop practical ways to respond differently.

Our clinicians work with adults experiencing concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Depression and low motivation

  • ADHD-related challenges

  • Stress and overwhelm

  • Mood and emotional regulation concerns

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma-related concerns

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship concerns

  • Women's issues

Care is individualized based on your concerns, goals, needs, and the clinician you are working with. Our approach is collaborative, with room for both meaningful conversation and practical strategies you can use outside of therapy.

Comprehensive Assessments

Mental Health Assessments

Sometimes the first step is getting a clearer picture of what you are experiencing.

PBHA offers structured mental health assessments that may help clarify symptoms, identify patterns, and support treatment planning or clinical recommendations.

An assessment may include a clinical interview, review of relevant history, and standardized measures selected based on the reason for the evaluation.

Assessments are individualized. The specific process and measures used will depend on the questions being evaluated and whether the requested assessment falls within the scope of services available through PBHA.

  • Full diagnostic interview and history

  • Validated screening instruments

  • Clear written report with recommendations

  • Treatment planning and referral coordination

ADHD Evaluation

Virtual ADHD Evaluation

Difficulty focusing does not automatically mean ADHD. Anxiety, depression, stress, sleep problems, and other concerns can sometimes affect attention, organization, memory, and follow-through.

Our ADHD evaluation process looks at the bigger picture.

Evaluations may include:

  • A detailed clinical interview

  • Review of current symptoms and relevant history

  • Evidence-based ADHD rating measures

  • Assessment of other factors that may affect attention

  • QbCheck computerized testing when clinically appropriate

  • Review of findings and clinical recommendations

QbCheck provides objective information related to attention, activity, and impulsivity and is used as one part of the overall evaluation rather than as a stand-alone diagnostic test.

ADHD evaluations are available virtually throughout South Carolina for adults and adolescents ages 12 and older when appropriate. Click to learn more

  • Structured, not rigid.

There is purpose and direction, while still leaving room for your individual needs and what is happening in your life.

  • Collaborative.

You are part of the process. Goals and next steps are developed with you rather than simply handed to you.

  • Practical.

Insight matters, but so does what happens after the session ends. When appropriate, therapy includes strategies and skills you can apply in everyday life.

  • Individualized.

The same concern can look very different from one person to another. Services are based on your clinical needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
