About PBHA

Care that's both compassionate and organized

PIL Behavioral Health Associates is a telehealth practice serving adolescents and adults across South Carolina with structured, evidence-informed mental health care.

Our story

Why we built PBHA

We started PIL Behavioral Health Associates because too many people seeking mental health care meet one of two extremes: clinical environments that feel cold, or warm environments that lack clear structure. Real change asks for both.

PBHA stands for the work we do every day pairing genuine human warmth with clear clinical thinking. We help you understand what's happening, build practical skills, and create change that holds up outside our virtual office.

Our name reflects what we believe makes therapy work: Personal Insight Leading to lasting wellness. You already possess the ability to heal and grow. Our role is to be the expert guide.

What we stand for

The values that shape our care

These aren't just words on a wall they're the lens we bring to every session, assessment, and conversation.

  • Line drawing of a person relaxing in a hot spring bath with steam and bubbles.

    Warm & Human

Therapy works when you feel safe. We meet you where you are no judgment, no hierarchy, no clinical coldness.

  • A simplified diagram of a flowchart or organizational chart with one top node connected to three lower nodes.

    Structured & Clear

Goals you can measure, language you can follow, and a clinical plan that doesn't feel like a guessing game.

  • Icon of a report or document with a magnifying glass for analysis or review.

    Evidence-Informed

We draw from what the research actually supports and we're honest when we don't have a clear answer yet.

  • Icon of two people with puzzle pieces connecting, representing collaboration or teamwork.

    Collaborative

You're the expert on your life. We're the expert on the clinical process. The best work happens in that partnership.

    Practical Tools

Insight matters, but you need strategies you can use Monday morning not just feel better in session.

    Accessible
